Family

Overview

Not every boy’s educational needs are the same. That’s why Hanna teaches each boy based on his special needs.

Each boy’s individualized treatment plan includes a tailored educational program. Careful consideration is given to how each boy learns, his study habits and the educational difficulties he faces. Often, boys are behind in school when they enroll due to a variety of reasons including, absenteeism, instability of the family, or learning difficulties such as ADD (attention deficit disorder) or ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).

Special education programs have been developed to help the boys deal with their educational disorders. The boys are also instructed on proper study habits and on ways to improve their ability to focus on tasks.

The cottages and group homes on campus have set times for homework and have computers so boys can access their homework assignments and obtain computer tutorial assistance. Child care workers assist the boys with their homework and may request special tutors for the boys when needed.

Small class sizes (6-10 students), performance monitoring and a highly trained staff on campus 24 hours a day ensure that our kids get the attention they need to make real and measurable progress.

Archbishop Hanna High School is WCEA/WASC accredited and a diploma is awarded to graduates upon completion of the graduation requirements.

“I’ll always be thankful to Hanna Center for what it offered me both in school and in teaching me how to live life in general.” Roger Harrison, alumnus
