Caseworkers

Once a boy enters Hanna, he is assigned a caseworker who assumes the role of working with the boy and his family. In essence, the caseworker is a combination of parent and student advocate. The caseworker provides guidance and reassurance in resolving personal issues and conflicts. The school communicates with the caseworker and the cottage staff on student progress and concerns. The caseworker coordinates and facilitates counseling sessions with the boy and his family, arranges home visits, and coordinates health treatments and other appointments. Through the caseworkers, the Center offers treatment programs, such as parenting classes, anger management and drug and alcohol counseling.

Approximately every three months, members of the Hanna staff gather in a Treatment Plan Review meeting with the caseworkers to discuss the treatment progress of each boy, evaluate and re-establish goals. After the TPR’s, student progress and new goals are discussed in private in family sessions with the boys.
